Obituary for Edwin "Ed" Caulk

Edwin "Ed" Caulk, 79, of Litchfield, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 27, 2017 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Caulk was born on November 7, 1937, in Litchfield, Illinois. He was the son of the late Floyd Caulk and Margaret (Kinder) Caulk. He married Janet (Link) Caulk on June 1, 1962 and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife, Janet, he is survived by his two daughters, Amy (Jeff) Lee of Ocean Ridge, Florida and Becky Caulk of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; two granddaughters, Emily Caulk of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Audrey Lee of Ocean Ridge, Florida; his brother James (Linda) Caulk of Orland Park, IL; sisters and brothers-in law Carol (Chuck) Roper of Litchfield, IL, Ralph (Jane) Link of Bloomington, IL and Michael (Becky) Link of Bethalto, IL; and thirteen nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Caulk and mother-in-law Lola Marx.

Mr. Caulk was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the Marine Corps League and VFW. Besides spending cherished time with his family and many friends, he truly enjoyed the outdoors whether it was deep sea fishing in the Florida Keys or hunting with his dogs. He was an avid boater and loved spending time at his Lake Yaeger property in Litchfield.

He was a 1955 graduate of Litchfield High School and attended Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. He lived in Litchfield, Illinois and Key Largo, Florida most of his lifetime. He was an entrepreneur, having owned several businesses throughout his lifetime.

Rather than a memorial service, it was Mr. Caulk's wishes to have a Celebration of Life gathering which his family is planning for this summer.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project (www.woundedwarriorsproject.org), a charity dear to his heart.
