Michael Bloome of Springfield, IL passed away March 12, 2017 at St. John’s Hospital. Son of Loren and Maxine Bloome.

He is proceeded in death by his father, Loren. He is survived by his mother Maxine Bloome, brother, Mark (Janet) Bloome, sister, Lorna (Craig) Scoggins, sister, Marybeth (Rick Hogan) Bloome, daughter, Ashley and son, Christian Bloome, and 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Throughout his career "Big Mike" was a well-respected chef at various Springfield restaurants including Black Angus, Maldaners and Gabatonis. He was an accomplished fisherman who loved nothing more than spending his time at Sunset Lake and he was a devoted Cub fans.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 17, 2017 from 1-3pm at Heinz Funeral Home. A graveside service and burial will follow at Moore Cemetery.
