Obituary for Gayla "Gaye" Greenwalt (Jolliff)

Gayla “Gaye” Greenwalt, 70, of Carlinville, IL passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 in Springfield, IL. Gaye was born January 24, 1947 in Centralia, IL to Gene and Dotti (Price) Jolliff. She married David S. Greenwalt July 12, 1964 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville, IL.

Gaye worked as an echo cardiologist at Carlinville Area Hospital for 16 years. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, she was active in politics with the Macoupin County Republicans, supporting the Girl Scouts, and being a proud homemaker.

Gaye is preceded in death by her mother and survived by her husband, David Greenwalt of Carlinville, IL, sons; Jeff Greenwalt of Carlinville, IL, Troy (wife Andrea) Greenwalt of Tonica, IL, daughter, Jennifer (husband Mark) Flatley of Batavia, IL, father Gene Jolliff of Lawton, OK, 4 brothers; Dan Jolliff of Houston, TX, Rod Jolliff of Pocahontas, IL, Kurt (wife Tammy) Jolliff of Mulberry Grove, IL, Brant (wife Wendy) Jolliff of Lawton, OK, sister, Gwyn (husband Mike) Blake of Chicago, IL, 7 grandchildren; Ali, Ryan, Liam, Chelsie, Justin, Aiden, Josie, and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Sunday, April 2, 2017, from 3-6pm with a service to follow at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville, IL.

Memorials may be made to Macoupin County Military Support Group or the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
