Obituary for Henry Richard "Dick" Stark

Henry Richard "Dick"  Stark
Henry Richard “Dick” Stark Jr., 86 of Carlinville, IL passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 in Branson, MO surrounded by his family. Rich was born December 19, 1930 in East St. Louis, IL to Henry Richard and Josephine (Erlinger) Stark Sr. He married Lola Waymoth November 19, 1955 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Highland, IL.

Rich was a graduate of East St. Louis Senior High and then proudly served his country for 4 years in the US Air Force. He then began his career as an Agriculture Territorial Representative, retiring in 1994. Rich loved to garden, work outdoors, travel with Lola and family, and had a deep love of family and country. He was a devout Catholic, a member of Ss. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, and a devout St. Louis Cardinal fan and his and Lola’s dancing skills were legendary.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Nova Lee Galvin and Doris Forster.

Survivors include, his wife Lola of Carlinville, IL, daughter, Cindy (husband Robert) Counts of Dallas, TX, sons; Eric (wife Karen) Stark of Chatham, IL, Doug (wife Ruth) of Petersburg, IL, grandchildren; Adam Stark, Nathan Counts, Julie McCubbin, Chad Counts, Matthew Stark, Kyle Stark, and Rebecca Stark, 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held Friday, November 17, 2017 from 4-6pm with a prayer service at 6pm at Heinz Funeral Home.

A funeral mass will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11am with visitation 1 hr prior at Ss. Mary & Joseph Catholic Church with Father Mike Haag officiating. A luncheon will follow mass.

Rich will be privately buried at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.

Memorials may go to Ss. Mary & Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund.
